Sunny Beach
Sunny
Beach (or Slanchev Bryag) is about 3 miles (5km) south of St Vlas and is the
largest Bulgarian sea resort. It is situated on a wide semicircular bay along
the southern part of the Black Sea coast and has a five-mile long (8km) beach
of natural golden sand dunes and is regarded as the best beach along the coast.
The resort
is comprised of more than a hundred modern hotels, and offers a wide range of
services as well as organised day trips to surrounding attractions, including
trips to the ancient town of Nessebar.
Besides
sunbathing and swimming, the resort offers many water and land-based
activities. So, if you are looking for an active holiday it's unlikely you'll
get bored, there's always something to do. Sports include windsurfing, sailing,
water-skiing, para-sailing, beach volleyball, mini-golf, horse riding,
climbing, cycling and tennis, and there are also fitness centres, swimming
pools and spa treatment centres.
Children
are more than adequately catered for and will find an endless supply of
organised activities, competitions and play areas.
The resort
can get very busy during the peak season but you can always leave it behind if
it gets too much and return to the peace, quiet and much slower pace of Sveti
Vlas. Nightlife in Sunny Beach is varied and ranges from night-clubs, discos,
casinos and bars, to cafes, folklore style nightspots and a variety of acts and
entertainment in the local bars. Several shopping centres in the locality
provide plenty of opportunities to search for clothes, souvenirs and food.
There are also stalls aplenty along the main promenade area. |
